As a mixed media artist, Nadia’s work embodies the essence of place, a state of being, attempting to create a living installation of color and light.
Nadia received her BFA in sculptural ceramics and archaeology. Her art career began as an illustrator of archeological artifacts on archaeological digs, and then for scientific journal and cultural resource management publications.
After moving to Hawaii, she shifted her sculptural focus to wood. She began woodworking by making functional mirrors and other small wall art, then transitioned into large scale mixed media wall sculpture installations.
Her work contains elements of prehistoric rock art, the similarity of design patterns found worldwide in ancient cultures, and the miraculous colors and patterns of the ocean wildlife in Hawaii.
When not creating in the studio, Nadia runs an Arts Business Accelerator school for visual artists that struggle to expand their arts business.
